Meet the Princess: Chapter 1B (Why Polly?)

Where we last left Polly…

UPDATE: Why Polly? was previously available in its entirety here. The first two-thirds is still available freely here – except, unfortunately, chapters 2-5 have been temporarily removed due to Amazon restrictions. They are available for purchase at Harma-Mae Smit’s Amazon page instead. But Chapter 6 on is still available in all its rough, unedited glory. And don’t despair! Improved, updated versions of ALL chapters will soon be available on Amazon.

  2. I’m intrigued here. I really like your word choices where they’re unique (pottering is something i haven’t heard before). One downside of writing more vernacularly is you end up not using anything that sounds too fancy. It’s something I need to work on.

Do you write poetry? I’d be interested in seeing some of what you have to offer.

I love your dresses descriptions. Sorry it took me so long to get there, I wanted to read some of your non-fictional articles before reading your fictions. Don’t ask why, it just seemed right.

Paulina is intriguing, and your “At twenty-one I am a little old to be looking for a husband” at the beginning of the story made me smile. So far so good =)
